| Stark House Press is in the business of reprinting some of the best mysteries and supernatural fiction of the past 100 years. This has been going on since 1999, when we published our first book, the signed, limited hardback edition of Storm Constantine’s The Oracle Lips. We’re now up to about 50 books. We have even published a couple of new titles, just to prove that we’re not hidebound by our own restrictions. We publish these books in attractive trade paperback editions, most of them with new introductions, complete bibliographies and usually two classic books in one volume. |
We’ve published the excellent suspense novels of Elisabeth Sanxay Holding, the incisive noir thrillers of Peter Rabe, the sophisticated social novels of Vin Packer and the edge-of-the-seat hardboiled thrillers of Douglas Sanderson. We brought back rare books by Harry Whittington and unpublished novels by that most noir of paperback writers, Gil Brewer. We re-introduced the cinematic South Sea adventures of A. S. Fleischman and the character-driven crime tales of Wade Miller. We mixed things up with the fast-talking humor of Richard Powell, and the sting-in-its tale storyteller of Margaret Millar. And we recently published our first original novel, Johnny Porno, the superlative crime thriller by Charlie Stella, author of Eddie’s World and Charlie Opera. And there’s more to come...... |
