Asa Cyril Bordages was born on March 2, 1906, in Beaumont, Texas. He lived in Houston, Texas in the 1920s and moved to New York in 1932, where he became a feature writer for the New York World Telegram, marrying actress Gertrude Flynn in 1933. In 1941 Bordages authored a play, Brooklyn, USA, with screenwriter John Bright, featuring characters based on Murder, Inc. gangsters. It ran for 47 performances, and was revived in Hollywood in 2010. Bordages wrote two novels under his real name, and two more as Mike Teagle. He died on December 9, 1986, in Columbia, Knowlton Township, New Jersey, at the age of 80.
