Glenn Hilary Canary was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky in 1934, but spent most of his childhood in Massillon, Ohio. Graduating from Ohio State University, he began his career in 1961 as a newspaper reporter, soon working for the Massillon Evening Independent. Canary began his writing career in the early 1960s selling short stories to magazines like Gent, Dude, Manhunt and Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine, and novels for Monarch and Pinnacle Books. He also worked in the book club department of Doubleday & Company, and later in public relations for corporations like Goodyear before forming his own investor relations consultancy in 1987. He died on May 7, 2008.
