Conrad William (Bill) Dawn was born on December 9, 1933 in San Francisco. His family then moved to Los Angeles and Portland. He joined the Marines in the Signal Corp in 1951 and was wounded in action in Korea in 1953. Dawn traveled around the world and was at various times a sailor, a fighter, and a newspaper man. He wrote six men's adventure novels, all for Novel Books in the early 1960s. He was married three times, eventually settling in Phoenix, Arizona. Dawn died there in Ajo, Arizona, on November 12, 2002.
